Late Studios Joins the Melkbos Ateljee’s Open Studios & Art Walk 2026
Late Studios is excited to announce that we will be taking part in the Melkbos Ateljee Open Studios and Art Walk on 26 and 27 September 2026. This local art event in Melkbosstrand brings together artists, studios, exhibitions, workshops, and creative experiences for visitors to enjoy over one inspiring weekend.
As a young art studio established at the beginning of 2026, this event marks an important milestone for us. It will be our first art festival and open studio event, and we are proud to have the opportunity to share our work with the public, meet fellow artists, and connect with art lovers in the community.
What Is the Melkbos Ateljee?
Melkbos Ateljee is dedicated to supporting and celebrating local artists by creating opportunities to showcase their work through exhibitions, small events, and creative experiences.
Melkbos Ateljee’s mission is to support artists at every stage of their creative journey, whether they are emerging or experienced, by creating opportunities to share work outside the barriers of traditional gallery spaces.
More than simply an art event, Melkbos Ateljee aims to build a welcoming community where artists and art lovers can come together, discover new work, and support one another.
Beyond the open studios and exhibitions, visitors can also look forward to a film festival featuring screenings from around the world, a relaxed Poetry Corner, hands-on art workshops, and a special performance by Karen Zoid (Zoid Spawn) with the Melkbosstrand High School Choir.

Come Visit Late Studios
The Open Studios and Art Walk will feature several art hubs and studios across Melkbosstrand, all within walking distance of one another. This makes it easy for visitors to explore different creative spaces and discover a variety of local artists in one day.
Late Studios will be exhibiting at Complete Coast Properties, 26 Beach Road, alongside Karen Nyce, a talented watercolour and painting artist. You can also view her artwork on Instagram at @Karennyce_art.
Late Studios will be showcasing a selection of new paintings and prints created throughout 2026, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the work we have been developing during our first year as a studio.
For us, this event represents more than an opportunity to exhibit our artwork. Although Late Studios is still young, we are proud of what we have accomplished since opening our studio, and we look forward to sharing that journey with the community in person.
